Doesn't open links clicked from TweetDeck (being approved)

I use TweetDeck (the standalone app) as my Twitter client.  When using Safari or Chrome (set to the default browser), those browsers would automatically respond to clicks on links posted on twitter.  Epic doesn't.  If I click the link, I see that Epic has become the selected app up in the menu bar, but it doesn't load the link.  I have to copy the link to the clipboard and paste it into Epic to view it.

I just tested it with another Twitter client -- TweetBot, and it does the very same thing.

This is also happening with links sent in Signal messaging app. Not sure if this should go in this thread or its own thread. Thanks.
