Backspace means Backspace

Two Questions
1: Is there away to "un-map" the Backspace Key on the keyboard to the Back Button? I know you can do this in Firefox. If not why not?

2: There is an extension called BackspaceMeansBackspace, I have been to the Chrome the web site and tried to install it, but no joy, and I have opened the extension tab in Epic, but do not see it as an option.
