Netflix on macOS

Hi! Just downloaded Epic and it's, well.. epic!

Apart from this issue! Netflix won't work without the silver light plugin, and that doesn't work! (Sierra) I heard somewhere that it's because google doesn't allow the use of widevine anymore. Or something.

But is there a hack or something 'in the works' to get it to work?

Also- any plans for an iOS version of Epic?

Here's hoping!

Re: Netflix on macOS

Yes for Windows users, Netflix works if you install the IE Tab addon via the Epic addons page.  Then you have to open an IE Tab in Epic and then log into Netflix in that IE Tab.

Unfortunately there is no Safari Tab or IE Tab for Mac users so no luck there :-(

Unfortunately, Netflix uses a proprietary plugin called Widevine which Google acquired several years ago and though they will license it freely to just about everyone within a few hours, they have for years refused to release Widevine to Chromium browser vendors like us (yes we have spoken with them).

Google also cut off Silverlight support in Chromium (which killed our previous hack which was telling Netflix we're Firefox so that it would work via Silverlight).

iOS version of Epic is in progress ;-D.
