Looks like I found a solution to the "Extensions not installing" problem, which worked for me.
I uninstalled the browser from my PC and reinstalled it. Went straight to the Extensions store and clicked the two I wanted and while it still offered me to save a file, it also installed the extension in the browser as it should have done in the first place.
Looks like my browser is now working as intended.
The more you protect yourself from fingerprinting and tracking, the more unique your browser becomes...
Basically you are sticking out of a crowd with a big sign saying "I wanna be invisible".
But as long as that fingerprint is random and keeps changing then that weirdo with the sign will at least always look different and be hard to track.
The ideal anti-fingerprinting measures would be those that would blend you in with the crowd while constantly changing on future visits, but spoofing can be detected as well, so once again you become unique.
Bet you don't have this problem with your day-to-day browsers, if you tested them? That's because many others are using the same configuration.
So it seems like this is a known issue with no solution?
It is my understanding that the Proxy/VPN came built into the browser in the past. Now they have to be installed from Extensions. But like everyone else, I just get a Save File window and it saves a .crx file to my downloads folder...
I really hope there is a workaround. I tried multiple times from the webstore - same problem. Resetting the browser also did not help.
