Pay Per View is a monetization model where viewers pay a one-time fee to watch a specific video or live event, such as a concert, sports match, webinar, or premium class. There’s no subscription—users pay only for the content they want to access.

Video on Demand  allows viewers to watch video content anytime they choose, rather than at a scheduled broadcast time. Content is stored on a platform and can be accessed on demand, often through subscriptions, PPV, or rentals. Many platforms, including VPlayed, support both PPV and VOD, giving creators flexibility in how they monetize and distribute their content.

The main difference between Pay Per View and Video on Demand lies in how content is accessed and paid for.

PPV is a pricing model where viewers pay a one-time fee to watch a specific video or live event, usually for a limited time (for example, a live sports match or a special webinar).

VOD is a content delivery model that lets viewers watch videos anytime, on their own schedule. VOD content can be monetized in different ways—subscription, PPV, rental, or free with ads. Platforms like VPlayed support both, allowing creators to offer on-demand libraries while also selling individual PPV events.
