I just lost all my open tabs and tab groups again accidentally. I am not sure how but the browser closed and when I reopened it, I was not offered the choice to restore tabs as would happen if I killed the browser from the task manager and my history is gone. This seems to happen also if Windows is restarted without first killing Epic in the task manager.
So the Tabs and groups are stored somewhere if the task is killed, but not if Epic or Windows is closed and restarted.
I don't think anyone understands my question.
I just want to be able to back up my tabs and groups and restore them if Epic is closed. How?
Clearly it is saved somewhere or the offer to restore them if Epic is killed could not happen. Where?

The dialog that I get when ending the task from the task manager and reopening is:

Restore Pages?
Epic Privacy browser did not shut down correctly.

Restore

If it is shut down manually or via windows shutdown, this dialog does not appear. So I lose all of my open tabs and groups.

What is your OS?
You might try this https://support.google.com/chrome/searc … ch=truefor more info as I have been unsuccessful so far. The problem might due to the version of the OS or just Epic. I frankly don't know.
I will refer your query to Alok.

Hello Proxy1 and thank you for your reply again.

I am using Windows 10. I am not sure that you understand my question
This is not a Chrome thing, it is specifically a question about Epic. Epic allows grouping of open tabs, (right click on tab>add tab to group) and naming of that group in order to organize open tabs. I do not think Chrome has the same feature, natively. Epic does and it is a great feature for keeping organized.

My problem is that if I close the browser, then open it again, all of my tab GROUPS and tabs are gone. However if the browser crashes or it is killed in the task manager (end task)  and thus  not properly closed, then when I open the browser again, my tabs and groupings are restored. This tells me that they are stored somewhere. How can I save/restore the open  tabs and tab GROUPS manually? Where is this restoration data kept?

I am not talking about bookmarks, or saving a particular webpage. Do you understand? DO you understand the tab GROUPINGS that I am talking about?Thank you.

Thank you but I am not interested in simply saving and restoring bookmarks, I am interested in preserving the grouping of tabs. Right clicking on a tab allows you to add it to a group. I have spent a lot of time organizing my tabs into groups, only to find that it is a waste of time since these groups apparently cannot be preserved if the browser is closed.  So why bother having this feature of grouping? Nobody wants to repeat the work of grouping every time the browser is closed or bookmarks are imported.

Are we able to save this grouping along with the bookmarks, and if not when? Thank you.

I just tried Epic for the first time ever. I love the grouping of tabs feature. I love it so much that I spent half a day organizing my commonly used sites into groups. Then when I closed the browser I found they were not retained. How can I save and restore this configuration? Are we supposed to organize tabs into groups every time we open the browser? That makes it a nice, but useless feature. A nice but useless feature is not useful (or nice) smile

This seems to be a no brainer for any browser, yet it is always a nightmare requiring some kind of unsustainable extension or file manipulating gymnasitcs. How hard is it just to put this configuration into a single XML file and be able to save/restore multiple xml files to configure the tabs and groups? One being on startup as the default tab and group configuration? These files can then be backed up, transported, edited, whatever. Without this basic necessary feature (NATIVE PLEASE , NOT AN EXTENSION) any browser is useless in my opinion.

I have researched but it appears to be something only/maybe on a wishlist or some complex workaround. Have I missed it?

Thank you for any help or explanation or question , like "why would you need that"?
