Here's some basic info on it: https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2022/09 … h-in-2023/
Will Epic drop support for Manifest V3 Chrome extensions once this new change rolls out? Will Epic, being a chromium-based browser, switch to using the Manifest V3 API itself?
It seems like Epic Browser has been able to gracefully avoid privacy and ad-blocking issues that have threatened other browsers over the years, but it seems very possible that this new extension API will be a great equalizer that threatens ad blocking everywhere, including on Epic. As far as I'm aware, there's been no news from the Epic team on how they'll be dealing with the change, or if it will affect Epic at all, so I'm concerned for the future of Epic, privacy browsers, and online privacy in general. Would love to hear from you guys about this. Thanks for all the protection over the years. and regardless of what happens, I think I'll stick with Epic.
Yes I did. So far nothing that I've tried has resolved the issue.
I'll be brief because this may be a 4chan issue rather than Epic, but it works on every other browser I've tested (including Epic for Windows).
Clicking the "Get Captcha" button when attempting to make a post leads to a long load, then an error message about making sure the browser doesn't block cookies. This still happens after disabling ad blocking, and even enabling third-party cookies. It still happens with the desktop site option enabled, so I doubt it's a problem with the mobile nature of Epic for Android, that and it works on Chrome's Android version. Really I can't think of any reason it wouldn't work, other than the most basic of privacy features Epic for Android offers, or perhaps 4chan refusing to load captchas for Epic's Android version specifically.
I'm using the most recent version of Epic offered in the Play Store and running Android 9 on an LG phone.
