Yes, this seems to be a persistent issue since the option of an image was introduced and/or the whole issue with extensions going wacky because of Windows updates. Anything you set via the settings cog icon is not persistent. I have noticed that it is after a specific time-frame (24 hours?), because on re-launch, sometimes the settings do remain persistent from last session.
