I also like maia's suggestion. It's helpful to have the page number highlighted in some way for easy navigation among the pages, perhaps skipping backwards from 7 to 3 and so on.

It now works for me, too. For two days or so there was a glitch somewhere preventing those shortened url's from loading out of the BadBlue news aggregator.

Selecting such urls from BadBlue news aggregator yields "Web Page not Available."
