EPIC for Windows works like a charm!
However, EPIC for Android seems to leak information. I've got Epic with Adblock and encrypted Proxy installed.
Despite being in another country than the used encrypted proxy location, I get local adds in when browsing a website of choice.
This is really concerning...
Please let me know what can be done to change this behaviour.
Last week, after I had earlier posted several issues the Cloudflare issue seemed to be almost solved.
However, since yesterday almost none of my favourite sites is reachable again.
An update addressing this issue was announced for the first week of September.
Any idea when it will be available?
Hi all, we have a better fix for this in an imminent update which should work better with Cloudflare. Also there were issues with the proxy network which we're fixing which should help with the Cloudflare issues as well.
GREAT, can't wait!
Just in case it might help you further mitigating the problem: I reported that I quickly saw the following message: "unblock challenges.cloudflare.net"
Just found out that it should be "unblock challenges.cloudflare.com"
Hope it helps, but you probably already new it
Just one question: is the following message also CloudFlare related or is it another problem (all connection issues started around at the same time so I assume they are related, they've led to about 5 different kind of error messages in total - all mentioned in my posts- that keep exchanging in the same tab when trying to connect/refresh/change proxy):
"No Internet There is something wrong with the proxy server or the address is incorrect.
Try:
Most likely, the connection to Epic's Encrypted Proxy failed. Please close and re-open Epic to connect to another server or switch your proxy to connect to servers in a different country.
Checking the proxy address
Running Windows Network Diagnostics
ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED"
Today again almost nothing reachable despite changing proxies, refreshing, etc...
Now, for the first time a very quickly disappearing message:
"unblock challenges.cloudflare.net" (went so fast, I'm not 100% sure about the word "challenges")
And this message, which I had not reported before:
" This site can’t be reached
The connection was reset.
Try:
• Checking the connection
• Checking the proxy and the firewall
• Running Windows Network Diagnostics
ERR_CONNECTION_RESET"
Checking the firewall: all in and outgoing traffic of EPIC is allowed.
Several other browsers without VPN and OPERA with VPN: no issues
Four tabs open give each another behaviour, mostly unable to access a website:
Tab 1: active download from a side that I did manage to access minutes before, refreshing leads to the "Cloudflare loop", while the download continues...
Tab 2: gives the “Cloudflare loop” while trying another website
Tab 3: Trying to access https://www.epicbrowser.com/ gives:
“No Internet
There is something wrong with the proxy server or the address is incorrect.
Try:
• Most likely, the connection to Epic's Encrypted Proxy failed. Please close and re-open Epic to connect to another server or switch your proxy
to connect to servers in a different country.
• Checking the proxy address
• Running Windows Network Diagnostics
ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED”
Tab 4: Trying to find something with a search in the search bar leads to the following message:
“The connection to us.search.yahoo.com is not secure
You are seeing this warning because this site does not support HTTPS. Learn more”
Switching Proxy does sometimes enable a tab to work, but the general behaviour stays the same.
Refreshing a tab several times sometimes helps, but mostly not.
Many sites that used to work are inaccessible since a few days.
Cloudflare is in a never ending loop when VPN is on, for example: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/
www.thewindowsclub.com
Checking if the site connection is secure
www.thewindowsclub.com needs to review the security of your connection before proceeding.
When VPN is off they work well.
Since a couple of months those sites were already less easy to reach: often they require a captcha and/or they need to be reloaded several times.
This was not the case in the past...
I'm currently unable to use Epic because of this, since I only want to use it with VPN on.
Opera with VPN on does work with the same websites, but that browser obviously doesn't provide the same level of protection.
PC Windows 10 pro with latest updates.
I already tried several things like flushing DNS, IP, emptying cache etc. with no result
UPDATE:
After I disabled "Epic Privacy Browser is using proxy settings from an extension" in "System" -> "Settings" and re-enabled it, most websites load again, although still sometimes with several refreshes and occasionally a minutes-long Cloudflare check
