new tab page extension

Can I use one of the new tab page extensions? If not, why not?

Hi,
We don't currently have any new tab extensions in the app store.  We keep extensions to a bare minimum because any extension can access all your browsing, edit web pages, etc.  And even so-called widely-used and trusted extensions collect & sell your browsing history e.g. the Web of Trust was found to be doing this.
