Epic has for its entire history been audit-able and transparent.  We've protected hundreds of thousands of users everyday for 7+ years now.  We've tried having outside contributors but that's never worked for us (just took up a lot of our time).  There's never been anything "shady" about Epic though we sadly can't say the same about other so-called privacy services which are not transparent unfortunately (e.g. DuckDuckGo, many others...).

Yes, and we've always been transparent about how Epic works and what it does.  There hasn't been a lapse in privacy for 9 years now.
