It could be a setting on your MacOS firewall, SIP (System Integrity Protection), the version of MacOS, a setting in Epic, Google Chrome store, not having an account or something I haven't thought of.

Sorry, it may be related to some changes in the latest Chromium extension handling...not sure...strange as we haven't had issues installing extensions in our testing...we will have a new desktop update out hopefully by the end of April.
