I too received the above message about proxy needed new permissions. I stopped using the proxy. Is it safe to use the proxy or not?

It is perfectly safe to use our proxy service. It is an encrypted proxy.

It is a bug in the recent update. We are releasing an update soon on this bug.

we have released a new update (39.0.2171.71) to fix this issue. It may take couple of couple of hours to reflect to every one.
