Hi,
I guess that it is a bug that Epic (Version 34.0.1771.0 (243083)) ist crashing frequently when I am closing it via cmd+Q.
So, what to do?
Regards
Sven

I’m having the same problem with 2452! Each time I Quit, I get an alert saying Epic Quit unexpectedly and asks if I want to report it to apple.
When I open again, I get an alert that it wasn’t shut down properly and asks if I want to restore the old page.
Never had that particular problem with the previous version, although neither version allows me to select incognito with keys ( (cntl+shft+N does nothing)!
Is there a fix?

Here the same! Often crashes when closing Epic on a MacPro 1.1 with OSX 10.68

Hi , did you check with the latest update. Epic won't crash anymore with latest update. If problem still persists do let us know.
Thank You

Epic crashes every time if I quit with no open windows. If there's a window open (even if minimized), it shuts down normally.
Epic version is Version 34.0.1771.0 (243083) aka 2452. Running OS X 10.8.5.

hi erikr,
Thanks for writing us, can you update to latest version and let us know if it crashes again.

I'd be happy to if you can tell me where to find it. Running "check for updates" from within Epic says I have the latest version, and if I got to the Epic browser web site and click on the blue Download button, I get a pop-up EULA, click "accept" -- and nothing happens.

Hi erikr,
"I get a pop-up EULA, click "accept" -- and nothing happens." - Sorry for inconvenience . Accidentally our download server down for some time. It's working now.

The download server is working again, but it gives me the version I already have: 34.0.1771.0 (243083) aka 2452. And it still crashes.

I'm not sure if you answered this or not -- the page says there are 11 posts, but only 10 are visible to me. Any word on how I can get a more recent version than 2452?
Thanks.

Hi Erikr,
We have 2452 is the latest version. I can help you getting this problem solved. Can you tell me do you have any bookmarks or specific settings on Epic?
Thank You
Sai

Hi, I don't have any special settings for Epic.

Hi erikr,
Sorry for delayed reply.
Can you do the following commands from terminal
"cd ~/Library/Application Support/Hiddenreflex/Epic/"
"rm -rf Default"
"cd ~/Library/Cache/"
"rm -rf Hiddenreflex"
Note: do not forget "~" in this commands.

Hi sai,
I tried this, but no luck. Epic still crashes if I don't have an open window.
If you want to see the crash report, you can get it from <https://www.dropbox.com/s/7418yms2grasg … report.rtf>

cd ~/Library/Application Support/Hiddenreflex/Epic/
-bash: cd: /Users/.../Library/Application: No such file or directory
Same problem with a crash on trying to shut Epic down
Version 34.0.1771.0 (243083)
Want crash reports submitted? If so where and how?

and there's "/Library/Caches/HiddenReflex
plural on "Caches" and capitalization on "HiddenReflex" and "HiddenReflex" is a directory named "Epic"
So it's not exactly, precisely clear where the rm-rf command is supposed to be pointed.
I gather this Unixy stuff can go wrong in the hands of the amateur so I'm going to await advice here about what to do next.

Hi Ankh,
Here are the commands once again. Make sure you are using "~/" which is a short cut for user home directory
"cd ~/Library/Application\ Support/HiddenReflex/Epic/"
"pwd" - make sure you are in above directory.
"rm -rf Default "
"cd ~/Library/Caches"
"pwd" - make sure you are in the User Cache directory.
"rm -rf HiddenReflex"
Thank You

sai, deleting these directories does not solve the issue. Epic still crashes on quit.
Besides, everyone trying this solution should notice that it will set Epic preferences to default!
Epic version 34.0.1771.0 (243083) [says 2452 upon crashing]
OS X version 10.6.8 _and_ 10.8.5

Hi,
we have given an update. That should fix this error.
Thank You

It has been crashing for me on closing, and the update today didn't help. But I removed those caches/directories with the terminal commands above, and that did the trick just now.

Never mind my post saying it worked: it still crashes on quit.
Offline
Yes, it still crashes.

I've updated too, and it still crashes on quit unless you leave a window open.

Hi all, Can you tell me how to reproduce this? I tried cmd + Q several times, it did not crash for me.
