Why is automatic translation off?

Hi,
I speak several langugaes. Sometimes I read Chinese webpages.
It is only a benefit to have translations.
What is the reason for turning automatic translation off?
Why should this be any concern of privacy with automatic translation?

If you use any translation service, they know what you are posting to their servers. 
It may leak your privacy in some sense.
