Epic Youtube player keeps crashing

Im on a windows 8.1 machine using v.48.0.2553.0 of epic browser and every single day on a variety of sites the Youtube player keeps crashing. Is there an update coming anytime this month?

A minor update is coming this month...but YouTube shouldn't be crashing, argh!!  Is it still crashing everyday?

on windows 10 ver 1706 epic does not allow to be closed (must use task manager to close) nor does it allow to navigate in favorites bar. it stucks all the time.
