Why is EPIC trying to install a global hook?
I use methods to ensure that programs do not access system resources without my knowledge. Why is EPIC trying to install a global hook without my knowledge? Please explain the use of this global hook if it is not to inject dlls.
Thanks.

This is I believe the standard behavior of the open source Omaha installer (which is also used by Chrome). We're not sure why they use a global hook. It's nothing we've put in actively ourselves.
Nice work that you didn't allow it and that Epic works fine without it. We have another update coming out in 1-2 weeks so be sure that that updating still works fine for you.
