Disable the proxy, adblock or use another browser. Epic does not play well with Google and your problem is not unique.

I tired of trying to use google for anything except maps and rarely use that. Sorry but I don't have any more suggestions.

You can whitelist Google.com and then go subdomain by subdomain I think e.g. add mail.google.com, maps.google.com, etc.  I don't think the * format works with our Encrypted Proxy whitelist.
