Do you have Epic whitelisted  in your firewall? I would also wonder about the vintage of your Intel Mac and MacOS BigSur 11.7.

I'm not sure but it sounds like it may be that the latest Chromium (which Epic is built on) no longer supports the older version of OSX :-(.  Sorry about that.
