I get same error. 'ignore' crashes the installer.
Epic Update installation failed with error 0x80070005.
With a link to lookup the error:

I found my cause, I had made the 'HCCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run' registry key read only. Epic installer tries to put an epicupdate.exe in there and errors if it can't.

I am having the same problem just trying to install it. I've never used it before. I run Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit, Service Pack 1.
My son had no issues at all getting it to run on his Windows 8 system a week ago.

I'm having the same problem but I don't know why. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit, Service Pack 1. I have never used Epic browser on this system.
My son installed this on his Windows 8 system over the weekend without issue.
