Hello everyone,
i love this browser but i want to add more than six URLs to my newly opened tabs. I'm coping by constantly deleting, but bookmarking doesn't work for me. I'd like to extend it to another row at least! Thanks a lot, maia

#3 Epic Privacy Browser - Help & Troubleshooting » silly java extension question, not important » 2015-03-16 23:42:44

in firefox, java deployment toolkit is dis/en-abled separately from java tm platform se, and java deploymt. tlkt. is automatically disabled "known to be vulnerable use with caution". So, i had a look at Epic's extensions and the 2 are lumped in together, which is obviously a Chome thing. I dunno what it's vulnerable to (diabetes?) or how essential it is, in firefox i always leave java enabled and everything else disabled due to getting the impression java was essential to most webpages whereas i don't care about pix/video/gifs.

is java deploy vulnerable to something bad? and is it possible to dis/en-able it separately to the other java? or is the other java not very useful and disabling both is fine as a solution?

Sorry to bother you, thank you very much, yours sincerely, maia

it still leaks less than using proxies plus firefox. I haven't tried xombrero on it but how many hours do i have to load a webpage? (not knocking xombrero, anyone that tries is a good guy in my opinion)

Hi, utterly unnecessary but, for fans of your browser and its crazy red-purple-blue logo who'd like to flaunt it, any chance of having it in the top bar instead of grey? Hardly an important option, i just got the impression this kind of thing is easy to do, i don't know, and not likely to cause security probs? Thanks! maia

#7 Re: Epic Privacy Browser - Privacy Features & Privacy Concerns » Email password filled in » 2015-02-22 16:28:53

Hi Sai,
i do not have passwords save enabled and i have the same problem. If i don't log out just close that tab, any later time in the session i go to google i get logged in again. This didn't used to happen: i just had to close the gmail tab to delete the information.

Since your problems with google and your teaming up with yandex, i have noticed Epic seems to store history, and has been under a lot of forum pressure to do this. It logs me back in to tabs i shut and stuff. (Yandex mail has suddenly started resembling gmail too, off topic.)

I half got used to and liked your old strict approach to privacy, though i can see why your current laxer approach came in.

Given your user base includes tech ignoramuses like me and both your settings are useful, any chance of a button to switch between paranoid and don't-care privacy? Or something? Thanks a lot for all your hard work, maia

#8 Re: Epic Privacy Browser - Privacy Features & Privacy Concerns » A Sneaky Start-up Entry in "Contradiction" with the Privacy Concept! » 2015-02-22 16:22:00

if you are using Windows, you need a programme called Autoruns, which isn't by Microsoft but they host the download, start it as administrator, and uncheck all the things you don't want running at startup. You'll find a good deal more than Epic there, i promise you. It's the only way to get slow old computers like mine up to speed. Warning though: a lot of ipod-itunes stuff needs to be left or your computer won't detect your ipod even if you start those programmes afterwards, have to disable each session with Task Manager.

Dear Sathi,
yes, but i do not know which page i am on, so if i remember it was on page 3, the most interesting result, and i have gone back and forward a bit, then i have to keep going back or forwards until i see it, or start from page 1 and work forwards...hope i make more sense this time!

But it's not important, first you need money sorted.

Take care, maia

Hi maia,

Thanks for your support, you can use keyboard shortcuts for forward and backward operation.
Forward - Alt and -> (right arrow)
Backward - Alt and <- (left arrow)

#12 Re: Epic Privacy Browser - Other Feature Requests & Ideas » Browsing History » 2014-12-30 13:51:08

Hi prudhvi764,
i have severe memory problems, which means i NEED my browsing history - i can't remember what i did or where i went, eg i see a perfect Christmas present online for my brother, no idea what or where, but with browsing history i can read everything and it triggers my memory. I use Epic as one of 3 browsers i use regularly, i use firefox for solid stuff (delicious.com - i have obsessive compulsive disorder, i have to bookmark everything - banking - it's armed to the teeth with security addons - etc) Pale Moon for shopping (i do the actual buying on firefox, but the mooching on pale moon) and Epic for speed, secrecy, privacy, search etc. I have a fourth browser for youtube, because i need my lists but i don't want to be logged into the same account for work and mental illness stuff because i don't want HR to see my comments in mental health forums (thanks google) and i have used lots of Chrome browsers and noticed they hang and crash a lot. Epic's the one that does it least often (hardly ever) and very briefly, others, like Midori, SRWareIron, Xombrero etc do it all the time. Finally i have Sleipnir for tumblr, because they claim their rendering system renders text beautifully (i think they mean japanese text, it's nasty on Roman alphabet) but i swear it makes images look loads more beautiful. I probably use Epic 2nd or 3rd most. It's really useful, worth keeping.

What you might want is F B Purity. Every time i set the settings, i end up with weird results, but i still use it. As far as i understand, you install it to your facebook account, not your browser, but i think i'm also wrong, i don't really understand. But, worth trying. For myself, i just enlarge the page so that all the ads are off the screen on the right hand side...

Dear Madam/Sir,
'support Epic by shopping at Amazon.com click here' if i change the m in the resulting URL to .uk will you still get paid? I do this trick a lot to check book reviews on both sites, since .com usually has more, & amazon is best for book reviews! - so it should still give you money, transfer just the same? Thanks, maia.
n.b. did you know amazon.co.uk/books works but amazon.com/books = 404? odd!

Dear Madam/Sir,
sorry to pester you, but many times i am on page 3 or 5 or your search and i forget which page i am on, so i cannot work out which number to click. Please could you add a big 'forward' 'backward' button? Big (long), because small ones which are hard to click on annoying! Or, change the colour of the page you are on? Either. It's not important. I hope you are able to keep up the good work as this is such a good, useful browser, and i use many so i know for sure. Thanks, maia

#16 Re: Epic Privacy Browser - Other Feature Requests & Ideas » copy all tab urls » 2014-11-04 20:04:36

Hi Alok, no, i am a loyal firefox user of many years' standing, till death do us part, but i load it to the gills with addons and i never use just one browser, i think i have every windows browser going installed (inc. Kylo, which is designed for use on TVs - but does work on PC!) but this is the one i find i use a lot apart from Firefox and PaleMoon. (I'm very tech ignorant & live deep in countryside so no-one to ask so e.g. K-Meleon you have to compile addons, problem.) What i love about Epic is, because it keeps no history, it stays fast, and because it is so simple to use the proxy it's possible even for me - i can in no way figure out how to use proxy in firefox, which i know is not hard, but there's no button 'click here it's done', like epic. Also, OCD, i like that i can't keep loads of tabs etc - means i don't start compulsively doing so. So 1. i don't know any Chrome extensions 2. suspect copying all URLs can be done using commandline or something and 3. i don't use Epic for things i must track eg bank, news, so it doesn't really matter:) Thanks, maia

Dear Madam/Sir,
i would like to request a feature that will copy all the URLs of all the open tabs. I have OCD and often find it hard to get off the internet. I use 'copy urls expert' in firefox, 'send tab urls' in PaleMoon . 'Bookmark all Tabs' just ends in too many useless bookmarks, so i really like this feature.

It is best if it is not powerful, has too few features - you can close first all the tabs whose URLs you don't want or delete them. I usually paste them into abiword or notepad++, it varies, but emailing them is okay.

Thanks a lot, maia

NB the reason is because you can't copy all the tab urls because you are too OCD if you don't do it in one click you won't be able to break the compulsion to keep on clicking on every link and reading it....sorry, it is irrational and stupid!

#18 Re: Epic Privacy Browser - Other Feature Requests & Ideas » Why not charge for Epic? » 2014-07-30 00:00:39

then you need to set up a bank account, a paypal account, a secure email blah blah blah before you can use it! Better to be popular and get grateful customers. Speaking of which, now you can't buy the blue firefox tshirts and i always wanted one but i used to be way to poor! I read a hilarious article on UKIP merchandise in purple and yellow, makes £80,000 a year!

#20 Re: Epic Privacy Browser - Other Feature Requests & Ideas » Flashblock addon please maybe even imageblock? » 2014-07-29 23:57:10

i am really silly, i realised now i can disable flash playing automatically in the content section of advanced settings. Imageblock the firefox addon is great because you can choose with each page - sometimes you really need to see the picture! - and it has the option to not reload automatically when you change the setting, so if you want images on 1 page of 20, you can press F5 after altering the setting, then click the button again and back to block. I live in a rural area of the UK, sometimes it is a big help with loading speed of browser. Thanks for your kind reply, it is not urgent!

Also please could you make Flashblock (the firefox addon - think they're for Chrome too) and imageblock if it exists for Chrome? It's very green to not download images, it saves a lot of the electricity spent transmitting the internet down cables, but i appreciate that's more work than flashblock, which is lightweight and already exists for Chrome. Thanks a lot.

I would like to make a feature request for HTTPS everywhere, as i think it would be easy to get a risk-free addon for this? Thanks, maia
